Our Porch Transformation

 Over the past few years we have been having a reoccurring problem with our porch ceiling.  As you can see we have mold and algae that appears on the ceiling every year at this time.  We try to keep it in control with several products but nothing seemed to work.    We love the natural look of pine but each year the mold would leave a dark stain. 

 We were told we only had two choices.  Paint it or stain it?  That's what the professional recommended to us.   Since no one would walk on it and it was some what protected from the weather we went with a good quality paint. We went with a Semi gloss white.
