LOCATION,LOCATION, LOCATION

We have all heard the advise when buying a home its location, location, location. You will probably come to the conclusion that its obvious that we did not heed that advise. Our home in Mohawk is surrounded my many dilapidated and abandon homes.  As you will see that most of these homes were log cabin at one time and they just put some kind of siding over it.  Most of the homes in the Mohawk/Fulton area are that way.

These homes were most likely families that worked in the Mohawk Mine.
In 1932 the Mohawk Mine closed down along with a lot of other mines.  Most home owner could not sell there homes so they just left there house  to seek employment elsewhere.
This is the house that caught on fire and took the life of an elderly couple.  Were not sure if this will ever get torn down.  This house is right off our front porch.  Our view keeps getting better and better.
Not sure if this has always been here but it does look original.  As you can see at one time it had electricity.
This is the home that is right across the street.  Not only is this a log home at some point they added on to it. There are over 750 homes abandon in the Allouez Township.
